As far as AYCE japanese restaurants go, this is one of the better ones, offering a large variety in their menu. However, the taste has been steadily going down hill these past few years, and i'm pretty sure they upped the prices too (though don't quote me on that). This might be due to the economic crisis that's happening right now, but if they're raising the price for our meals anyways, shouldn't the quality of the food stay the same? Nevertheless, it is still one of the better ones out there. If you're not a picky eater like me, then Wasabi should be filling enough for you =)
The service however is terrible. I rmb once when i went with my family, we ordered a lot the first round (since dad and bros eat a lot ==), the waiter looked at my mom while she was still ordering and told her that she shouldn't order so much. like seriously, i know they're worried that we can't finish the food and all that, but it's not like this is the first time we've been to an AYCE restaurant. We had a pretty good idea of how much we could eat, and after all, we were paying for it. and like my fellow restaurant-reviewers posted, service was slow, missing orders, things we didnt order ended up on our table, things that we did ended up on someone else's table, and not a smile was to be seen on the servers' faces.
probably a good place for big gatherings, since you're not paying attention to what you're eating half the time anyways. but if it's just the two of you, be prepared to sit there and watch as other people around you eat.

Wasabi has consistently getting worse in terms of food and service! Have to wait much too long to get a waiter's attention, then a long wait to get food, and when you finally get your food? It's not very good. There's lots of sushi places in Scarborough and Markham, I suggest going somewhere else

if you look at the price for dinner, it might be expensive. But after, if you compare by how much you ate, then probably it's a good price.

we went there for lunch. and the price was ok, but they also didn't serve everything that you asked for and then rushed you through. The lunch menu is a lot like the dinner menu though, but they should have notes beside the items if they aren't available for lunch. It was worth a try, and I may go back, but you have to get there earlier for lunch to make it worth your while. I don't think the price would be worth it for dinner though, and they also already charge 10% on the bill.

i went there a several times already, i think lunch is better than dinner even if there's less choices, but you get what you usually order at any 'all you can eat' jap restaurant... last time i went there, it was on a saturday, i waited 30 min and waited another 30 min for the food to come... disappointed a friend who came out of town to try it... so, if you're not in a rush, it's a good place for you

Have gone back many times, still our family's first choice for J food. Service is good compare to other AYCE. If you have to watch your budget, go there for lunch, esp. with kids.

Not sure if there's any connection to the Wasabi in Ottawa, but that is by far the best Japanese restaurant I've tasted in North America.

Best and least expensive all you can eat japanese sushi + other is at midland and finch. in plaza(scarborough market something)on left just before the first lights north of finch on midland. I dont remember what it is called but it is in the south west corner or the plaza. Lunch 9.99$ dinner 13.99$ add 1$lunch 2$dinner( fri sat sun). Very good/fast service and very good quality.
Does anyone know of any place cheaper?

When my friend and i went for lunch during a weekday, the first thing we noticed on the door was the yellow food inspection card. Most places, you'll notice its green with the word "PASS" on it, this one was yellow (probably should have turned around and went somewhere else at that point). Some of the cooked stuff was either not hot (eg not freshly cooked) or not cooked at all (eg that beef skewer looks more than just rare). No sashimi for lunch and the sushi didn't taste very fresh. Service is as everyone else has described, slow and inefficient. Oddly enough, there was a food inspector walking around when we were there.

Service: Bad
IMO, the food is soso. Services is really bad and waiting time is about 30 mins. I recomend to order as much as you can on the first time because after that it will take some time.

Restaurant was nicely decorated but everything was really dirty. They had a lot of things on the menu but were unavailable for order when we were there. The cooked stuff was soso, but they didn't know how to make the rolls at all, the sashimi that we had was soaked in water to keep it fresh.

The food was great, i luv'd it. The service wasn't so much, because of the wait time. All you really need to do is grab at their attention. So I'd recommend that a larger group would b better cause u'll only get ignored if itz less than 4 people. Oh i'd also recommend bookin ahead of timje cause there are a lot of people who eat there.

The place was quite nice. AYCE dinner $18.99 (Fridays, weekends or public holidays + 1.99), and for a few bucks more, you can order the king crab leg, uni and other more expensive stuffs. Unlike some other Japanese AYCE restaurants, the sushi there wasn’t too “rice-y”. You know… some AYCE places try to fill up your stomach with lots of rice and less sashimi. The food was served quickly. Overall, the impression was quite good. But still, I wouldn’t want to go AYCE so often. It’s just too much for me.

Food wise it was ok, had a little flip over on some of the plates, but over all it was ok... (atleast I didn't throw up)
Service wise... it sux! Besides the fact that they are slow, they are all teenagers who get paid minimum wage so they don't give crap about costumer service...

To be honest, i think the food quality is the same compare to other all u can eat buffet. One thing for sure is the waiting time. i am not talking about the line-up, is the time length i have to wait for food. I think you guys need to make some adjustment on the time issue! Cheers!
